History of the Ayurvedic and Holiday Resort’s Origins
In 1996 Roland Raphael booked an Ayurvedic treatment in Bentota, Sri Lanka, and became quite enthusiastic about this country, its climate and plant diversity. Already at that time he had a vision of a guesthouse with an Ayurveda centre. Twelve further years passed, however, before a perfect land plot could be found. In addition, in 2006 he met his business partner Chandika in Bentota, which indeed made the project possible.
After more than 30 years of concerting, producing and teaching a dream was born in his mind to change his life completely as he had been devoting his entire life to music from his earliest days. The decision came at the time when he had still enough vital power to build such a business. The idea to establish a holiday oasis in which healthcare assistance and spiritual experiences could be provided and people could meet up was finally put into practice in February 2014 when the foundation stone was laid.
Since 2016, when Roland Raphael early retired, he has been wholeheartedly committed to the project, although he still produces the annual Wallisellen Music Festival and now keeps on concerting only to a moderate degree.

Gihan Indunil – Our Artist
Gihan Indunil (26) is an independent artist, who has his own gallery in Aluthgama.
Roland Raphael quickly recognised his talent at their very first encounter. His art has ever since been ubiquitous in the villa. His paintings adorn the entrance hall, indoor and outdoor spaces, as well as all rooms and the summerhouse. He has visualised our guardian angel and decorates our walls with Sri Lanka’s colourful landscapes.
